We are The Omega Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation founded by five ΘΤ brothers who lived at THE HOUSE from the late 70’s into the early 80’s and who, as many brothers do, went our separate ways upon graduation from SDSM&T but remained in touch over the years – finding ways to get together and enjoy the friendships forged at 109 Kansas City Street.  Those five brothers, who currently constitute the Board of Directors for The Ωmega Foundation, in order of distance from the chapter house are Brothers; Mark Koepke ME ‘83, Todd Konechne ME ‘83, Michael Sherrill ChemE ‘82, Steve Mullan ME ’84 and Matt Kraft MetE ‘83.

This group, comprised of retired and soon-to-retire brothers desired to find a way to provide an option for supporting the fraternity using pre-tax dollars so that donations would be tax deductable by the donor, and donations could be made directly from Donor Advised Charitable Funds (DAFs) and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).

As a 501(c)(3) organization The Ωmega Foundation is dedicated to providing financial scholarship support to the next generation of fraternity brothers living, laughing, studying and socializing at 109 Kansas City Street, Rapid City South Dakota.

In its inaugural year, The Ωmega Foundation provided a $200 scholarship to each of the nineteen actives living in the house during the 2024 Fall Semester who had paid 2024 Fall Semester rent to the house.

The Ωmega Foundation has received a ten year pledge of $4,000 per year from an alumnus to ensure that the $200 scholarship can be maintained through the early years of The Foundation.  The long-term goal of The Ωmega Foundation is to perpetually provide $500 scholarships each year to each active living in the house who have paid their first semester rent to the house.

100% of donations to The Ωmega Foundation are used to fund the scholarships referenced above and pay for the cost of producing and distributing the annual Newsletter which serves as The Foundation’s sole marketing and outreach program.  Everyone at The Ωmega Foundation is an unpaid volunteer. If you require a copy of the IRS 501(c)(3) Approval Notice for The Ωmega Foundation or any additional information about donating, please email Michael Sherrill, at MichaelS@SherrillLaw.com or call Mr. Sherrill at 651-426-2400.
