About the Theta Tau Omega Chapter

The purpose of Theta Tau is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship. In addition to the desirable attributes of a general fraternity it offers a common bond; an interest in and pursuance of engineering in its various branches.

We host rush events several times throughout the fall semester where you can come meet the brothers and have some fun at the same time.

There are up to 28 brothers living in the house that are always around to help with homework, hanging out, and having fun. We also have FREE dinners for those interested every week Monday – Thursday. Yes, we have our own cook. Her name is Suzanne.

Any men over the age of 18 pursuing an engineering or science degree and finishing their fall rushing semester with a 2.0 GPA or greater are eligible to become a brother.

Rushing is the period in which you show you are interested in wanting to become a brother of the Omega Chapter. Rushing the entirely of Fall semester at South Dakota Mines and at the end of the semester the brothers will vote who we would like to give an invitation to join.

A majority of the brothers at the Omega chapter did not have the intention of joining a fraternity when we came to South Dakota Mines. Come see us at our house or find us on campus to hear why we decided to become an Omega!
